Bamboo for Prosperity: IshVed Warriors to Guide Farmers Towards Doubling Incomes

The IshVed Group successfully conducted a state-level training workshop aimed at accelerating the Bamboo Plantation Program and contributing to the Government’s mission of doubling farmers’ income. Held at Sindkhed Raja, the event brought together 200 IshVed Warriors from across Maharashtra, each entrusted with the responsibility of leading bamboo plantation initiatives in their respective talukas and districts.

The one-day workshop was organized under the visionary leadership of Dr. Sanjay Wayal, Founder & Director of IshVed Group, whose large-scale project at Sindkhed Raja has become a model for sustainable farming, rural employment generation, and women empowerment. The facility specializes in producing superior-quality tissue culture plants, high-performance seeds, and organic fertilizers, driving innovation and quality in Indian agriculture.

A significant highlight of the program is IshVed Biotech’s empanelment by the Government of Maharashtra to supply bamboo tissue culture plants under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). These plants will be provided free of cost to farmers, accompanied by comprehensive guidance from trained IshVed Warriors to ensure successful plantation and maintenance.

For 2025, IshVed has set an ambitious production target of 5 crore tissue culture bamboo plants, all to be distributed under the MGNREGS framework. Farmers participating in the program will also benefit from subsidies of up to ₹7 lakh per hectare, making bamboo cultivation both accessible and profitable.

Beyond economic gains, this large-scale bamboo initiative is expected to create widespread rural employment, enhance biodiversity, and expand the state’s green cover, playing a critical role in combating climate change. Bamboo’s fast growth and carbon absorption capacity make it a natural ally in environmental sustainability efforts.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Sanjay Wayal emphasized that the program will not only boost farmer incomes but also strengthen Maharashtra’s position as a leader in climate-smart agriculture. He reaffirmed IshVed’s commitment to empowering farmers with the right resources, knowledge, and opportunities to build a sustainable future.
